The curtain has closed on the Fashion Weeks for this fall. We look at five stand-out beauty trends from blackout liner and dark lips, to glitter and glitz.

Take a dark turn

Go for that piercing dark stare ala Versace girl by rimming your waterlines in charcoal liner or a soft smudge. Designers Pucci, Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen, Elie Saab favoured this blackout trend throughout the catwalk. Forget subtle, go for bold artsy eyes!

Gothic Gait

Modern gothic anyone? Switch to a darker lipstick this fall like Dior or Marc Jacobs and set the tone for dark romance. If black is not your thing, opt for the colour spectrum closer to black than red – think wine, violet or plum.We love the strong character it gives our faces. Try it!

Glitter and Glitz

Take sparkle to a new level with gold or bronze brows or upper lids and rewrite the rule that glitter can be good for grown-ups as well. From Burberry to Ungaro, the flashes of sparkle are here to stay and standout as subtle monochromes.

Dewy Look

Take a cue from Stella McCartney’s non-reflective natural look: just a little shine and a pink flush we all heart! Arm yourself with these essentials – blush, a tinted lip balm and mascara and your sun-kissed glow is done in three minutes flat.

Neon Nigh

Fluorescent shades should be on the top of your bucket-list for winter! Some designers showcased the 1980s inspired style with electric makeup. From a touch to a tint, models rocked neons on eyes and lips for an ultra-fresh effect that remained perky and pop.
